History, relaxation and class
Now recognized as one of Canada’s Historical Places the ‘Stothart house’ as it is locally known, was built in 1918 by Gillmour Stothart, a local timber merchant, whose relatives still reside in and around Miramichi today. Although the property remained in the original family until 1997, it subsequently underwent extensive renovations.
Great care was taken to enhance all that could be preserved. Original floors, fireplace mantels and mouldings remain. Antiques and other furnishings are blended to create a wonderful year round living environment. In fact, every surface in the house, inside and out, has been restored or replaced with attention to detail and respect to its original design. Our beautiful grounds and spacious patio make the perfect setting for a small wedding ceremony or anniversary party. Give us a call to view the perfect place for your special day.
