WELCOME WELCOME

Our Events

We’ve had an exciting and busy summer hosting our many guests, family and friends at the King George.  We’ve worked out a few kinks, and discovered a few more items we’ll be working on over the coming months to ensure your continued comfort is uppermost in our minds! The Rock’n’Roll and Irish Festivals in July brought us wonderful guests, as did the Acadian World Congress in August. Although summer was slow to begin here in the Miramichi, once it made its appearance we enjoyed some sizzling hot days of sunshine, dazzling sunsets, and cool evenings - perfect for sleeping.

The landscapers are now working on the initial stage of the 3-yr plan to update the exterior of the property, starting with the retaining wall and driveways to allow better access for our guests and patrons. Then they’ll do some fall pruning of the fruit trees and lilac hedge, rebuild the herb and cutting garden beds and we’ll be all ready for winter!

We’re eagerly working towards the launch of the What’s Cookin’ Miramichi custom cooking school in September and have a calendar of classes posted on the What’s Cookin’ Miramichi website for everyone to check out. We’re hoping to have some specialized classes such as ‘Preserving & Canning’ for the home gardeners with an abundance of produce; ‘Cooking Game’ to enlighten those who may be faced with the prospect of cooking venison or moose! ‘Easy Thanksgiving’ menu and preparation tip classes.  So go to the What’s Cookin’ Miramichi  website: http://www.whatscookinmiramichi.com to discover something of interest to you.

A Mysterious Twist on Fine Dining - Murder on the Menu!

Want to take part in an unforgettable evening of laughter and intrique while dining in style? Beginning in November and continuing through the winter months, we will be hosting Murder Mystery dinners for groups of 6-12.

The premise is that one of the guests is guilty of committing a murder and while he or she tries to elude detection, the other guests try to solve the crime.  Participants receive an info package about their character they will portray as well as suggested questions, secrets and costume recommendations to assist them in their role. The only rule is that you cannot lie!

The evening begins at 5:00PM and includes a 5-course dinner beginning with hors d'oeuvres and a 'cocktail hour'; then everyone proceeds to the table to enjoy what happens next! Remember, once the murderer has killed, he/she will  not hesitate to do so again! So sharpen your wits and enjoy being a suspect, victim or innocent bystander while you solve the mystery!

The fee per person is only $50.00 +HST.

Overnight accommodation can also be provided at an additional cost. Please call to confirm.
