Our commitment is to your total satisfaction and enjoyment during your visit with us. All guest rooms have ensuite bathrooms and are individually temperature controlled. Common areas are elegantly appointed with an eclectic mix of antiques and other furniture and wireless Internet service is available throughout the house.
Our dining room and living room with gas fireplace are especially inviting in the fall and winter. Seek out a rocking chair on the verandah or bask in the enclosed sun porch and let the magic of the Miramichi soothe you.
Sumptuous breakfasts, using herbs and produce from the garden, are served in the dining room daily between 8:00AM and 10:00AM from the adjoining kitchen of What’s Cookin’ Miramichi.
History, relaxation and class.
Now recognized as one of Canada’s Historical Places, the ‘Stodhardt house’ as it is locally known, was built in 1920 by Gilbert Stodhardt, a local timber merchant, whose relatives still reside in and around Miramichi today. Although the property remained in the original family until 1997, it subsequently underwent extensive renovations.
Great care was taken to enhance all that could be preserved. Original floors, fireplace mantels and mouldings remain. Antiques and other furnishings are blended to create a wonderful year round living environment. In fact, every surface in the house, inside and out, has been restored or replaced with attention to detail and respect to its original design.
